The Department of Zoology was established in 2012. After running U.G. course for 3 years the department was upgraded to Post Graduate in 2015. The aim of the Department is to provide quality education to students of U.G. and P. G. level and to contribute in the field of Animal Sciences and Zoological studies.
The Department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with average
teaching experience of more than 8 years.
Our pedagogy focuses on basic and applied fields of Zoology assisted with demos, models, videos, etc. The Departmental has a wet laboratory having equipments such as Digital Weighing Balance, pH Meter, Compound Microscopes, Trinocular Microscope, Distillation Plant, Centrifuge, Hot Air Oven autoclave etc. Department has a smart class and is well equipped with ICT facility. Department has an active Departmental Council of students. The department regularly organizes academic programmes to benefit students and faculty. One of such programme which the department is organizing since 2020 is the Invited Lecture Series on Biological Science (ILSBS). It is a national-level online lecture series in which eminent academicians, researchers and scholars from well-known institutions across the country are invited to deliver talks.
