The Department of Zoology was established in 2012 and subsequently upgraded to offer a Post Graduate program in 2015. The primary objective of the Department is to provide high-quality education at both the Undergraduate (U.G.) and Post Graduate (P.G.) levels, while making significant contributions to the field of Animal Sciences and Zoological studies.
Our department boasts a highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty with an average teaching experience exceeding 10 years. Our pedagogical approach emphasizes both basic and applied aspects of Zoology, integrating various teaching aids such as demonstrations, models, videos, and other instructional materials.
To facilitate practical learning, the department houses a well-equipped wet laboratory featuring advanced equipment such as Digital Weighing Balances, pH Meters, Compound Microscopes, Trinocular Microscopes, Distillation Plants, Centrifuges, Hot Air Ovens, and autoclaves. Additionally, we have a smart classroom equipped with state-of-the-art information and communication technology (ICT) facilities.
Promoting student engagement and involvement, the department maintains an active Departmental Council comprising students. We regularly organize academic programs that benefit both students and faculty. Notably, since 2020, we have been organizing the Invited Lecture Series on Biological Science (ILSBS), a national-level online lecture series that invites distinguished academicians, researchers, and scholars from renowned institutions across the country to deliver talks.
Through our comprehensive academic offerings, and engaging extracurricular activities, the Department of Zoology aims to cultivate a stimulating learning environment that nurtures the intellectual growth and holistic development of our students, while contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of Zoological sciences.
